The Causes Of Back Pain – How It Can Adversely Affect You

Your back could be bothering you for several different reasons. In some ways, modern life puts us more at risk for back pain because many of us spend hours hunched over computers or slouching on couches watching TV. Exercise can help, but exercising the wrong way can cause back pain too. We will examine some of the normal reasons for back pain.

You may not think that what you wear on your feet can affect your back, but it actually can. You cannot maintain good back support with inappropriate shoes. When your posture is affected by wearing the wrong type of shoes, you may experience back pain. For instance, women are apt to experience back issues more than most; due to the high heeled shoes that do not offer proper support. Cowboy boots can present a similar problem for both men and women. When you pick shoes for fashion rather that a type to suit your daily activities, you may be trading comfort for style, but putting your back, knees and feet at risk. Keeping your back comfortably straight while you are walking requires adequate footwear.

Without realized them, there are other pertinent reasons for back pain that may arise within our everyday lives. As we all know the obvious ill effects that smoking can cause; it can also be the culprit for some back pain and other perils as well. That’s because smoking is harmful for circulation and even limits the amount of nutrients your organs and bones receive. Spinal degeneration is greatly affected by this down the road. The discs in your back are the base from which your vertebrae are located; without proper hydration these discs will not stay healthy. Dehydration is something we need to take heed of and make sure that our entire body is given the required amounts of water to maintain optimal health.

Back pain can be an indicator of a more serious problem that concerns the kidneys. If you have kidney stones or a kidney infection, for example, you may suffer from low back pain due to the fact the location of your kidneys in your lower back. The pains in your lower back will, normally, also extend around to your lower abdomen and you may have pain upon urination as well. Kidney problems are a condition you need to have evaluated and treated by your doctor. Don’t put it off, because this can be a serious situation. Your medical provider can do an ultrasound test and/or a urinalysis to see if you are, indeed, afflicted with a kidney disorder. Don’t jump to the conclusion that, if you have lower back pain, it is caused by a kidney condition. However, if you have even the tiniest suspicion that you might have a kidney infection or other kidney problems, don’t hesitate to have it checked out.

Nothing else matters when you are having back pain; your concentration is spent on relief and nothing else.
